Minkyung is a master’s student in International and Development Studies at the Geneva Graduate Institute, specializing in Mobilities, Migration, and Boundaries. Her academic and professional interests focus on the migrant labor systems in South Korea, as well as protection and the rights of displaced populations, including refugees and Indigenous communities in Latin America, who are often excluded from social support systems.
She most recently worked as a Project Management Support Officer at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Paraguay, supporting project oversight and the implementation of infrastructure projects aimed at improving educational environments. Prior to that, she served as a Program Coordinator at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), managing international education and cooperation initiatives.
Minkyung also coordinated the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Volunteer Program in Honduras, overseeing the full cycle of volunteer support and management. Her professional journey in international development began as a Korean language professor at the National University of Trujillo in Peru, where she developed a strong interest in culturally inclusive education.
She is fluent in Korean, English, and Spanish, and has basic proficiency in French.
