José M. Ryb is a lawyer graduated from the University of Buenos Aires. He is currently working at PBX International Law and pursuing a Master in International and Development Studies at the Geneva Graduate Institute. Previously, José worked for seven years at the Office of the Attorney General of Argentina, where he was part of the legal team that represented the Republic of Argentina in international arbitrations and disputes. In this role, he participated in over ten investment arbitration proceedings and gained experience in complex commercial litigation and sovereign debt disputes before U.S. courts. He also served as a legal adviser in the negotiation of several international treaties containing investment provisions. In 2015 and 2016, José worked as a research assistant on judicial and lawyer independence for a United Nations Special Rapporteur. In academia, he taught at the University of Buenos Aires Law School from 2013 to 2024 and coached the UBA team for the Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition (2019). His main areas of research and teachiΩng are International Economic Law and International Human Rights Law.
