Aliasger Bootwalla is currently pursuing his Masters in International and Development Studies with a specialisation in Sustainable Trade and Finance at the Geneva Graduate Institute. He is a Fellow at DataSphere Initiative working on Sandboxes for Responsible Innovation: Local Lessons, Global Impact.
He was previously the manager for Research, Media and Partnerships at Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations – a foreign policy think tank based in Mumbai, India. He was responsible for the institution’s project management, strategic media consulting and the front facing contact for various stakeholders ranging from government and corporations to think tanks and academia. Ali has produced publications on South Asia’s Trade Architecture; Digital Public Infrastructure to Promote Global Commons; China’s BRI and India’s deepened partnerships with Global South countries.
He is an Alumni of the Managing Global Governance Programme by the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) and German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). He graduated from the University of Mumbai with a BA in economics and has also worked with the Mullen Lowe Lintas Group where he managed communications for brands in corporate and finance practice.
