Thinking ‘Outside the Box’: Collective Sensemaking of the AI Regulatory Sandbox Landscape is a hybrid workshop bringing together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and other experts working on regulatory sandboxes across AI and other domains. Through lightning talks, guided activities, and structured discussions, participants will compare existing sandbox models, examine what current evidence tells us about their design and outcomes, and identify implications and research priorities for AI regulatory experimentation.

The workshop is scheduled for November 13 and will be hosted by the Wharton Accountable AI Lab.

Here is the proposed schedule:

14:45–15:15 (CET; EDT+6) — Welcome and setting the scene
15:15–16:30 (CET; EDT+6) — Lightning Talks: Regulatory Sandboxes in the US and beyond
16:45–18:15 (CET; EDT+6) — Interactive Mapping Activity: Sandbox Typologies

If you can’t join in person, but are willing to attend online, fill in the expression of interest form. Although it does not ensure your participation, we will do our best to accomodate everyone. We need to ensure that the number of onsite and online participants is even for the interactive activity. If you are able to join in person please let us know by reaching out to: [email protected].
