“Building Safe Spaces for AI Impact: Regulatory and Private Sandboxes”, an official Pre-Summit Event of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, will be held as a hybrid event co-hosted by the Future of Privacy Forum and nasscom.
As AI systems continue to scale across sectors, sandboxes are increasingly used to support experimentation while addressing regulatory, ethical, and operational considerations. Ahead of the Summit, the event will bring together regulators, industry leaders, policy experts, and innovators to examine the role of both regulatory and private sandboxes in enabling responsible AI development and deployment. Discussions will focus on approaches that support safe, transparent, and scalable AI experimentation.
The event will be attended in person by S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY); Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY; and T. Rabi Sankar, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India. Sessions will include a combination of in-person and remote speakers.
As part of the program, Lorrayne Porciuncula, Executive Director of the Datasphere Initiative, will participate virtually in the panel titled “Regulatory Sandboxes: Enabling Safe, Scalable and Adaptive AI Governance”. The goal is to explore how regulatory sandboxes can be used by policymakers and regulators to adapt and strengthen AI governance frameworks. The panel is scheduled for 5:00-5:45 pm IST.
