As cyber threats outpace traditional legislative cycles, the “wait and see” approach to regulation is no longer viable. As International Geneva faces a pivotal moment in multilateral engagement, the traditional approach to regulation is struggling to keep pace with rapid technological evolution. Our session, Sandboxes & Cyber will explore the theme of Shaping Governance. Specifically, the session will examine if Sandboxes can be a tool for advancing Global Cooperation in Cyberspace.
The session will be introduced by the Datasphere Initiative with a presentation on current research and trends in sandbox approaches. Speakers will examine how sandboxes allow startups and businesses to pilot disruptive cyber tools and collect learnings from evolving models on how co-creation methods can support safety by design approaches. Participants will be invited to move beyond theoretical policy to examine how sandboxes serve as a “neutral ground” where regulators and innovators co-design the security and safety frameworks of tomorrow.
