The Datasphere Initiative is thrilled to welcome Transform Health as a project partner. Both organizations will join forces to drive forward work on strengthening health data governance and on amplifying the perspectives of youth within this space.

The Datasphere Initiative’s Africa Forum on Sandboxes for Data will build a pan-African community to enable innovative cross-border data governance solutions. Transform Health is building political will and consensus for stronger health data governance regulation, including launching the Health Data Governance Principles (which have been endorsed by 150+ organizations and governments) and co-leading a new Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Flagship Initiative on health data governance focused on strengthening approaches in the region. Together, the organizations will build synergies across this work and leverage their networks and expertise to deliver greater results and impact.
The Datasphere Initiative’s #Youth4OurDataFuture is one of the winners of the Omidyar Network Future of Data Challenge. This project aims to develop awareness-raising and learning campaigns, to showcase the voices and experiences of youth from the United States on how data shapes their lives. Transform Health has a strong focus on youth engagement, including through the work of their youth partner YET4H who aims to create a global youth network that re-imagines healthcare in a digital age. Transform Health will support the #Youth4OurDataFuture project, including through collaboration with YET4H.

Transform Health is a coalition of more than 150 organizations committed to achieving Universal Health Coverage by 2030 by harnessing digital technology and the use of data. Their mission is to build a global movement that brings together organizations and institutions across sectors to advocate for the equitable, inclusive, and sustainable digital transformation of health systems to achieve health for all. The coalition’s work centers around three key objectives to accelerate the digital transformation of health:
- Building consensus and political will to strengthen the enabling environment for digital health transformation.
- Calling for a global framework, underpinned by equity and human rights-based principles, to be developed and adopted by governments.
- Advocating for increased and better-coordinated investment in digital health.
