On Thursday 21nd, October 2021, Bertrand de La Chapelle, Chief Vision Officer at the Datasphere Initiative spoke at an Aspen Institute France “Zoom géopolitique” session on “Governing the Datasphere”.

Currently being incubated by the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network, the Datasphere Initiative seeks to bring a new, holistic and positive approach to the governance of the Datasphere.

The Aspen Institute France session provided an opportunity to discuss how to govern the mass of data that underpin and generate an exponential part of human and economic activities.

Mr. de La Chapelle’s presentation underscored the reasons why a deeply innovative approach is needed in international cooperation to govern this Datasphere, which is fundamentally transnational.
